Strictly necessary cookies

Our content editors sign in to a private editing area. That area uses a secure session cookie which is only set for signed-in editors; visitors to the public site do not receive it.

Browser storage

Your browser’s local storage remembers two small things: whether you picked “day” or “cocktail hour” colours, and the date you last saw the shutter go up on our homepage (so it only plays once a day). Neither ever leaves your device, and you can clear them at any time from your browser settings.
